Baby we were born to run

Right before Christmas I bought myself some presents. My favourite Springsteen song is Born To Run, so I just had to have this T-shirt. And I can never get enough nail polish...

Now it's time for Lord Of The Rings marathon with Eva and loads of lösgodis.

Christmas dress

I had a great Christmas Eve. I hope you did too. The stripy dress has become one of my favourites, so I wore it again this year...

Julkalas

We had a Christmas party a few days ago.

It was great fun. Look at my little elves...

At midnight we celebrated Vita's birthday with champagne, songs and laughs.

And then we danced for hours to old 90s tracks.

Jul och snö i Skåne

Eva and I went to Malmö yesterday to buy Christmas presents. As usual we ended up buying way to many things for ourselves, but we did find some presents as well.
It was snowing all day long. So pretty.

Holiday - finally!

I finally handed in my last exam project this Friday - after everything went more wrong than I could ever imagine. Two days before deadline the server broke down, and I could do nothing but sit and wait for it to be fixed by the company hosting my site. I have never been so stressed before. My stomach hurt for two days straight, and I hardly got any sleep.
They didn't manage to fix it in time, so I had to hand in an unfinished project. But then right after I handed in my project, I got a message saying that the deadline had been postponed, so I had two more days to work. Perfect - if only the server had been up and running again. They fixed it 10 hours before my finale deadline, so that was yet another night without sleep. But I did it. I finished the project and handed in on time, so now I can finally enjoy a bit of time off. Christmas time in Cph covered in snow. Lovely.

Swedes Please!

I can't believe I've never noticed this blog before. A blog about Swedish music... Check it out. I love it already. Swedesplease.net

Jag tänkte jag skulle höra av mig och säga att allt är fint

I don't have enough time for Aprilgatan these days, as we are working on our exam projects. They have to be handed in Wednesday next week, so things are very stressful. I can't wait for the next six days to be over, so we can finally have that Christmas party, shop for presents, and just relax.

Kärlek är ett brev skickat tusen gånger

Today I did it. I sent the e-mail to the international office asking if it would be possible for me to study in Göteborg for one semester. I have been thinking about it for so long, and I still don't know if I should do it. But for now I am gonna see what the possibilities are, and then I'll take it from there.

Could be kinda wonderful, don't you think?

Don't tell me you weren't thinking exactly the same

On a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you think a Norwegian guy would freak out if I walked up to him and went like this?

You and me,
let’s steal a car,
let’s rob a bank,
let’s travel far,
let’s wear these shirts my grandpa used to wear
And then I’ll be happy, I swear

I’ll point the gun, you’ll
keep the engine running,
I’ll be running to you.
You’ll be saying: darling our haircuts aside
we are just like Bonnie and Clyde

I’ll probably feel bad for
not taking the train but you’ll say it’s
In the country and it’s raining

We’ll kick open a cabin in the forest,
I’ll be scared like I am
You’ll put a flashlight under your chin in a scary way
and say you’re Son of Sam

And I’ll slowly pull you out of your Fred Segal
and high on the fact that we’re illegal
we’ll make sweet loving sweeter, like we do
I’ll say: BABY you’re a criminal, and you’ll say so are you

You and me,
let’s steal a car
But first,
before we go that far:
what’s your name?
Oh, don’t look so scared
Don’t tell me you weren’t thinking exactly the same

As you can see, silliness is what keeps me going these days. We have less than three weeks to finish all three exam projects... Yikes! I guess I should spend less time blogging.

Höst i Småland

Pernille och Carina hade en vän med en bil (jag!), och vi åkte långt boooooort...

I took a short break from studying this weekend and went with my two lovely friends to Pernille's house in Sweden. We definitely needed this.
We packed bottles of wine, warm sweaters and board games and stopped on the way to buy food and loads of godis (candy).

It was the perfect getaway right before we enter the time of extremely stressful exams at the university.

(500) days of Summer

Eva and I went to see 500 Days Of Summer tonight. I loved it. I loved the IKEA part, and I loved every scene for being so cute and beautiful. Not to mention the soundtrack... lovely! I really think you should go see it. I feel like writing a lot about it, but that would totally ruin it all. So just go see it - but be careful if your heart is (or has recently been) broken. The woman sitting next to me cried so hard through the whole movie, I felt like giving her a hug.

"I love The Smiths..."

"Honey, there's a Chinese family in our bathroom..."

Finaste filmen på länge.

Ruskigt väder

I really like Fall, because it can be so cozy and beautiful and not as crazy as the Summertime. But these days I just feel like crawling back to bed every morning. We are working really hard at school, so I'm completely exhausted when I get home, but I have found a few ways to make it all a bit more fun and cozy. Let me give you a few tips:

Paint your nails nice and bright colours. Who says they all have to be the same colour?
And drink loads of tea and hot chocolate. It tastes even better when you drink it from your favourite rock 'n' roll mug.

Photobucket

Also...
Look for cute guys with seglarmössa and tygväska. And smile at them when they walk by.
Ride your bicycle through Copenhagen late at night even though it's dark and rainy. Everything looks different and really pretty.
Spend some time every day gossiping with your girlfriends.
Listen to sweet music...

Balloons, baby!

Last night was great fun. We played with colorful balloons at the university and drank Liberty Ale.

I made a hat for Cecilia.

And I got one as well. They called for some posing.

Still can't believe I go to school here.

Balloons were everywhere. So cute.

Definitely one of the silliest Mondays ever...

New Thursdays

Now that I no longer have a job, I can concentrate on school and have some more time to feel like this...

Kinda nice actually...

And she'd never have to know what it's like when your pen breaks...

Today has been such a strange day. This morning I thought to myself that things seemed to be working and that I had finally gotten used to the university and the job, even though both things were so much hard work, and I was on track. And then tonight the most unexpected thing happened... I got fired. Yes, fired. As in no longer working there. As in "I'm gonna have to let you go." This has never happened to me before. It felt so strange.

I knew there was something strange about this day. Cecilia and I talked about it earlier. It wasn't just because we didn't get a lunch break. There was more to it than that.

And by accident I broke my favourite pen from Skansen.

Such a shitty day. I hope yours was better.

Fredagskväll

We had a party at the university last night. It went on from 3 pm, and we were waiting for the Christmas beer to be released (even though Christmas seems far, far away). For some reason this Friday bar doesn't seem to be quite as good as the old one, but hopefully it will just keep getting better. Don't get me wrong - I had a blast yesterday! And I even found out that they serve Anchor Steam. Sailor beer, yay!

Some of the best quotes from last night translated into Swedish:

- Ge mig den jävla Classic nu! Nu säger jag!
- Det är alldeles för lite hångel i den här klassen. Camilla, jag tycker du ska hångla med Daniel.

- Om du hittar en pappersklämma, då får du min iPhone...

I have a feeling we will have loads of fun at the university over the next three years.

Folk 'n' roll ?

The past two days has been about music. Two very different kinds of music.
Last night we went to see Muse, and it was so awesome. Rock 'n' roll at its best in a huge arena with loads of people going crazy. Air guitar and jumping around.

And then tonight we went to see something completely opposite. Sofia Karlsson did a small showcase at Ideal Bar. Swedish folk music and a very small crowd - perfection. I thought I was pretty much the only Dane listening to her beautiful music, but apparently there are other enthusiasts. Whenever I hear her songs I long for the Swedish country side, and this time was no different. It was too beautiful to describe, I think.

I will add videos from both concerts to my YouTube channel soon.

Moneybrother

A lot of people tend to get depressed and sad when Fall comes, but I'm not like that. I actually think it's nice. Fall is beautiful and cozy, and one of the best things about it is that all my favourite bands start going on tour again. Once again I have tickets for some great concerts that I can't wait to go to.

Moneybrother (Pengabrorsan!) was supposed to play a gig in Cph some weeks ago, but for some reason the show got cancelled with a very short notice. So disappointing. But there was really only one thing to do then... Buy tickets for the gig in Malmö in stead! So Eva and I did that and went there last night.

Anders var lika bra och snygg som vanligt. I love his crazy friend on the trombone, he always makes me smile and dance.

Dansskor

As we all know, I can't go to Sweden without shopping. And this time was no different. Cecilia and I recently talked about dansskor (dancing shoes), and I have been wanting to get some for a while now. So when I found these babies on sale I was so happy.

Cody

Last night I went to see this band:

They were really good and it was such a cozy atmosphere.

School bags

Part of going to school is finding cute outfits to wear everyday, and a very important thing is the school bag. I bought a perfectly cute one at Topman this Summer, but I just found these great ones as well... Look!

Like Summer just broke through though it was Fall

Just got back from Gbg. We had the nicest time.

Eva and I watched the football match at a local sportsbar. We were almost the only girls and definitely the only Danes there. I have to admit that I feel really sorry that we won...
Sunday we went to Långedrag and had the best räkmacka!

Det var jäkla kallt, men så himla fint ändå.

Then we had a great piece of cake (just like last time) at Le Petit Café, and Eva and I went to Sjöbaren to make reservations. On our way back to the car we decided to take a small detour in Haga, and guess what?! We ran into Håkan! He was out for a walk with Stefan, another guy, and the kids. So sweet.

Before going back home Monday afternoon we did some shopping and had lunch at our favourite place in Saluhallen.

Needing a break

We finally have a week off. Much needed. I'm off to Gbg in a few minutes.
Last night was so great, but I'm extremely tired now. Friday bar with my class mates and Prinsessan Eva was cozy and full of fläderblom cider. We ended up crashing a great party and dancing to old 90s tracks at the school that didn't accept me. But somehow I'm feeling okay that they didn't... I like the university so much that it doesn't seem to matter.

Though I'm good with words, I've never been good with words

♥ ♥ ♥

There is a war in all the heads and there’s a
war in mine as well and if I could explain it any better, I’m sure I would.

We’re in a bus and it’s night, you opened up and so will I but though I’m good with words I’ve never been good with… words.

But all I know is: there’s something new this year.
All I know is there’s something new real near.

There is a town that I live in and it’s a town that favors winners and when I win I think about when I’ll next lose.
.
I took a train that took me north and it’s the place where trees speak louder than the people and if I have to pick that’s what I’ll choose.

I walked along the river Ume, it chilled me out of my bones too, but a cold wind is always better than a cold voice.
I am not strong enough for win city, I’ll stay in to play Sin, witty people without hearts have always had a lead on me.

And all I know is, there’s something new this year,
all I know is there’s something new real near.
All I know is, there’s something new this year.
I don’t know much, but there’s something new coming near.

I’ll walk into the shop where you work, it is a shop that kills you slowly, there will be no blood but another shirt on a hanger will still behead you. I’ll lift your arm and you’ll lift mine, and in a Communist state of mind, we’re not worth more than anyone else but surely not worth less.

Gbg i hösten

I'm going to Göteborg next weekend!

Spårvagnar, pojkar med tygväskor och seglarmössar, Sjöbaren och mycket, mycket mer... Here I come!

A party and a surprise

Carina invited me to a party some days ago, and I decided to come along. We met at her place first, had some drinks and popcorn, and did some silly headbanging.

Then we joined the party at an old club in Cph. Felt like being back at our teen disco with glow sticks and everything - hilarious!

Earlier that day I had talked to Jeanette. She was going out as well, but we hadn't realized we were going to the same party and had been invited by mutual friends. Such a great surprise!

The night ended with yet another silly ride through Copenhagen on the back of Jeanette's bike.
